ePIC
Antminer S19, S19j Pro, S21, S21 Pro
Chip-level auto-tuning overlay for ASIC fleets — no flash, no dev fee.
Refinery sits on top of ePIC, Bixbit, Braiins OS+, LuxOS and stock Whatsminer firmware to squeeze extra efficiency out of Antminer and MicroBT rigs. Pick a goal — J/TH or $/day — and a continuous target-seeking tuner rewrites per-chip voltage and power limits in lockstep with BTC price and your power rate.
Illustrative panel · every value on a real rig is read directly from firmware telemetry.
Why Refinery
Custom firmware unlocks headroom — and locks you in. Pool-side tuning scripts centralize control — and lose the chip. Refinery keeps your stack, takes the heavy lifting off your ops team, and pays for itself in power savings.
Most tuners move one global frequency slider. Refinery walks a vector of voltage and power limits around the Si chip itself — across every hash board, every bank — so the worst cell no longer cap the best one. The result is a flatter, tighter efficiency distribution and a higher usable hashrate from the same hardware.
Pick a goal — J/TH efficiency, $/day after power, or hash per kWh. The tuner sweeps toward it in real time and re-plans the operating point on every cycle as the world changes around your fleet.
A lightweight on-prem agent opens an outbound-only WireGuard tunnel to the cloud control plane. No inbound firewall changes, no firmware replacement, no manufacturer warranty voided.
How it works
The on-prem agent reads the firmware’s existing telemetry: per-chip V/F tables, temperatures, reported hashrate, pool luck. Nothing is written yet.
J/TH target, $/day floor, or a fixed hashrate with minimum efficiency. The tuner takes its direction and a safe operating envelope from your fleet policy.
A continuous, bounded search — small V/P nudges, watched for reject rates, temps, and power draw. The tuner backtracks the moment a chip goes unstable.
Settled values are written back per-chip with a versioned history. Roll back a single chip, a board, or a whole rig with one click.
Every step is gated by a watchdog: pool rejects, intake temp, or power draw outside your fleet policy pauses the sweep and rolls back to the last accepted operating point.
Compatible firmware
Refinery talks to your firmware’s existing control plane — no reflashing, no migration. The agent speaks the manufacturer’s native API for each of the five stacks below, and falls back to read-only when a vendor API is incomplete.
Antminer S19, S19j Pro, S21, S21 Pro
Antminer S19XP / S21
Antminer S17 / S19 / S21 families
Antminer S19 / S21
M30S, M50, M53, M60 series
Refinery’s adapter layer is open — if your control plane can read V/F tables, we can drive it.
Pricing
Subscriptions are sized per miner, not per kilowatt, not per band of revenue. Invoice in BTC, USDC, or USD — the dashboard exposes all three with no minimums.
What that buys you
A representative 500-miner S19j Pro spread running on $0.045/kWh power at today’s pool economics. Numbers recalc on your dashboard from your actual fleet, your actual rate.
